Eco Metering Africa (“EMA”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) builds AI, IoT, and solar-powered solutions that help farmers and agribusinesses make climate-smart decisions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our websites, use our apps and devices, or engage with our services.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: you provide it to us, it’s captured automatically when you use our services, or we receive it from partners you authorize.

• Account & contact details – name, organization, role, phone, email, communication preferences.
• Communications – messages, support tickets, feedback, survey responses.
• Sensor & device data – readings from on-farm devices (e.g., soil moisture, weather, pump runtime), device IDs, firmware, connectivity status.
• Location & environmental data – GPS or area boundaries you provide, satellite imagery features and weather data linked to your fields.
• Usage & cookies – pages visited, app actions, timestamps, approximate location, and standard cookies or similar technologies for analytics and security.
• Partner data – where you connect third-party tools or programs (e.g., co-op or lender portals), we receive information as permitted by you and that provider.

Children: our services are intended for organizations and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve our products, models, and features.
• Generate insights and alerts (e.g., pest risk, irrigation scheduling, system health).
• Customize dashboards, reports, and recommendations for your locations and crops.
• Communicate about updates, training, security, and support.
• Protect against fraud and misuse; comply with legal obligations.
• With your consent, share case studies or testimonials (we anonymize by default).

Legal bases for processing

Depending on where you are located, we process data on one or more of the following bases: (i) to perform a contract with you; (ii) our legitimate interests in running and securing our services; (iii) your consent (which you can withdraw); and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.

When we share information

• Vendors & service providers who support hosting, analytics, communications, or device connectivity—subject to confidentiality and data processing terms.
• Program partners (e.g., co-ops, lenders, government programs) only when you participate or authorize such sharing.
• Legal, safety, and compliance when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our services.

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers
